Using Your Online Account

The Golden Star Portal at portal.gsrto.com is where you manage everything about your rent-to-own account — make payments, set up auto-pay, see your balance, review your payment history, check your early purchase pricing, and keep your contact info current. This page walks through each task step by step.

Log In to Your Account

Your account is secured with a password you create. You can sign in using either the email address or phone number that you gave Golden Star Properties when you filled out your rent-to-own contract.

  1. Go to portal.gsrto.com in your web browser.
  2. Enter your email address or phone number in the first field.
  3. Is it your first time signing in? Click "Claim your account" to create a password. You'll receive a verification code at your email or phone to confirm it's you.
  4. Enter your password and click Sign In.
  5. Forgot your password? Click "Forgot password" on the sign-in page and follow the steps to reset it.

If you get an error that no account was found, call us at (731) 333-4039 so we can check that we have your correct email and phone number on file.

Understand Your Dashboard

The first thing you see after signing in is your Account Overview. Here's what each section means.

  1. Balance — the total amount currently due across all your buildings. A green balance means you're current. A red balance means you have a past-due amount that needs to be paid.
  2. Past Due since — shown in red if you have an overdue balance. This is the date your account first went past due.
  3. Next payment due — the date and amount of your next monthly payment.
  4. Pay Online and Pay By Phone — quick links to make a payment, either through the portal or by calling us.
  5. Auto-Pay — shows whether auto-pay is set up on your account, or offers a link to set it up.
  6. Your Building(s) — one card for each building on your account, showing that building's balance, payment progress, and early purchase pricing.

If you see a "Pending Contract" card, your contract is still being finalized by the dealer before being sent to Golden Star Properties. Any payments you've made so far are held as a credit and will apply once your contract details are registered in our system.

Make a Payment

Pay your balance with a credit card, debit card, or bank account (eCheck). You'll see the processing fee before you confirm — 3.5% for card payments or 1% (capped at $5) for eCheck.

  1. Sign in to portal.gsrto.com.
  2. From your Dashboard, click the Make a Payment button.
  3. Choose how much to pay:
    • Pay full balance — clears everything you owe right now.
    • Monthly payment — just this month's charge.
    • Custom amount — any amount you enter.
  4. Choose a payment method: use a saved card/bank, or add a new one.
  5. Review the total (payment + processing fee), then click Pay.
  6. You'll see a confirmation screen with your transaction ID. A receipt will be emailed to you.

eCheck (bank account) payments take 3–5 business days to clear. Card payments post right away.

Set Up Auto-Pay

Auto-pay runs your payment automatically on the day you choose, using the card or bank account you select. You can turn it off at any time.

  1. Sign in to portal.gsrto.com.
  2. In the menu, click Auto-Pay.
  3. For each building on your account, choose:
    • Frequency — monthly, biweekly, or weekly.
    • Day — choose the day you want to pay. If paying late (after the 12th) add a $10 late fee to your amount.
    • Payment method — card or bank account on file.
  4. Review the terms and click Save to enable auto-pay.
  5. To pause or cancel, return to the Auto-Pay page and turn it off.

Auto-pay only covers future monthly payments. If you have a past-due balance, you'll need to make a one-time payment to clear it.

View Payment History

Your full payment history is available any time — every monthly charge, payment received, late fee, and credit on your account.

  1. Sign in to portal.gsrto.com.
  2. In the menu, click Payment History.
  3. If you have more than one building, use the dropdown to filter by building.
  4. Each row shows the date, description (invoice, payment, late fee, credit), and amount.
  5. Click Show all at the bottom to see older transactions beyond the most recent 20.

It may take one full business day for charges or payments to clear and post to your online account. If a recent payment isn't showing up, it may still be processing. eCheck payments take 3–5 business days to appear as cleared.

Update Your Profile

Keep your contact info current so you receive payment confirmations, receipts, and account updates.

  1. Sign in to portal.gsrto.com.
  2. In the menu, click Profile.
  3. Edit any field that needs updating — name, email, phone, or mailing address.
  4. If you change your email, you'll need to confirm it by entering the new email twice.
  5. Click Save when you're done.

Changing your email here also updates the email you use to sign in.

Manage Payment Methods

Save your cards and bank accounts so you can make future payments without re-entering them. Saved methods can also be used for auto-pay.

  1. Sign in to portal.gsrto.com.
  2. In the menu, click Payment Methods.
  3. Click Add Payment Method and enter your card or bank account details.
  4. To remove a saved method, click the delete icon next to it.

Your card and bank account details are stored securely with Intuit Payments — not on Golden Star's servers. If a saved method is being used by an active auto-pay schedule, you'll need to update the auto-pay first before you can delete it.

Understand Your Early Purchase Pricing

Each building card shows the amount to purchase the building on that contract early. Click "Details" to see how the number is calculated.

  1. On your Dashboard, find the building you want to purchase early.
  2. Look at the Early Purchase Price sub-card. The amount shown is the total to purchase the building and close the contract based on the last information your online portal received from our accounting system.
  3. Click Details to expand a full breakdown — original price, payments you've made (equity), remaining balance, sales tax, any credits, and the final early purchase total.

The portal early purchase price will be confirmed by our office prior to transfer of ownership — we recommend you call (731) 333-4039 to confirm the amount before sending a large early purchase payment. Early purchases made between the 5th and 17th of the month may include a rental payment charged in arrears for the prior month.

Something's Not Right?

Common issues and how to resolve them.

  1. A recent payment isn't showing. Portal data syncs from our accounting system after each business day. Card payments usually post quickly; eCheck (bank) payments take 3–5 business days. Wait a day and check again.
  2. My balance seems wrong. The portal balance may take up to one full business day to update. New invoices are posted to your account after the 17th of the month but they are not due until the 5th of the following month.
  3. A transaction I don't recognize. Late fees (shown with "FC-" prefixes) and processing fees are normal; Credits may show as Standing Credit or Excess Payments; Processing fees can show as Convenience Fees.
  4. I can't log in. Use "Forgot password" to reset. If you still can't get in, call us — we may need to update the email or phone number on your account.
  5. My payment failed. Check your card or bank details and try again. If the problem continues, try a different payment method or call us to pay by phone.
